
Executive Director Duties
Eastern Oregon Mediation Center (EOMC)
Part time: 20 hours per week
(Duration of position dependent on funding)
Essential Duties
- Schedule mediators for small claims cases and/or community mediations and work with court coordinator.
- Arrange continuing education programs for volunteer mediators as well as initial training for new mediators.
- Maintain current list of trained mediators and keep mediation records.
- Answer EOMC phone; develop cases and schedule mediator as appropriate.
- Maintain EOMC records; compile data and file annual/semi-annual reports with the Office of Dispute Resolution.
- Arrange monthly Board meetings.
- Interpret law/regulations pertaining to mediation, share and train mediators on said laws/regulations.
- Work throughout the community to develop partnerships with different organizations; raising funds, generating new mediation opportunities; and securing in-kind contributions.
- Grant research, writing and reporting.
- Promote alternative dispute resolution in Union County by presenting to civic groups, local media and the community.
- Answers to the Eastern Oregon Mediation Center’s Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
- Mediation knowledge preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in developing community partnerships.
- Experience or working knowledge of grant-writing and establishing new funding sources.
- General knowledge of the local community relations.
- Must be available and willing to travel to director’s meetings if funds are available.
- Must be able to work independently and be self motivated.
